Tags are a way to collect related nodes. You can add a tag to a node by typing [[.
For example, this node will be grouped under random and 2026-01-21.

A tag refers to a node. You can view all nodes collected under a tag by navigating to the node (by clicking on the tag or searching for the node text). When you add a tag B to node A, a link B->A is added under the hood.
Tagged nodes show as excerpts. You can tell because they are shaded and display a breadcrumb path above them. Excerpts display as part of the document alongside other excerpts and non-excerpts (child nodes that were created directly inside the document).
WARNING: deleting excerpt nodes delete the node everywhere. If you just want to unexcerpt the node (and keep the node itself), use Unlink block.

You can assign nodes a tag color. This will change the color of tags that refer to it.
